I’m an indie builder working on a small project in the AI writing space and wanted to share it here to get some honest feedback from other founders and small business owners.
Most AI writing tools right now are extremely general (think ChatGPT-style or tools like Manus). They can write anything, but they’re not really designed for specific creative communities.
So I decided to build something more niche:
an AI fanfiction story generator built specifically for fandom writers.
Instead of being a generic writing assistant, the tool focuses on things fanfiction creators actually care about:
ships and character relationships
trope-based storytelling (slow burn, enemies to lovers, etc.)
tone and vibe control
structured story generation rather than just random text output
The goal is to make it feel like a tool built for fandom culture, not just another general AI writing box.
It’s still early, but I’m planning to keep adding features specifically for fanfiction creators and build it out as a vertical product instead of trying to compete with the big general AI tools.
